Pakistan Diaspora

Introduction

Diaspora

The
word Diaspora came into the existence from a Greek word meaning “to scatter
about” or “spreading or dispersion of something” such as people or culture or
their language.

Human’s nature is so dissimilar, and we may
say that every human being had his/her typical nature that it requires changes
in every situation of life. If we took a brief view and a vague indication on
the history of human being it will be clear that human beings migrated from one
place to another for some useful resources, facilities and better opportunities
of life. This migration is sometimes due to some social, economic, religious
and environmental reasons or due to some sort of trade, education, good life
style or due to attraction of the most developed countries by some
extraordinary and phenomenal features. The migration is also due to the offer
of the brilliant opportunity to the life of an individual and to the family.
The people who are emigrated are Diaspora have a natural connection with their
dear homeland no way how they are far away they consider themselves in a global
village because of the advancement in the technological connection now a day.

 About
Pakistan Diaspora these are the people who live outside the Pakistan or we may
say they live in some other parts of the world in all continents. The overseas
Pakistanis are present in millions. They all live away from their sweet home
land and work hard for better education, health facilities, and for better
wages. They serve their home land as an ambassador at no cost. Some of them are
doctors, some are professors, some are engineers, some of them work as
businessmen and many of them are laborers. These overseas Pakistanis are great
source and mean of stability and improvement in the country’s balance of
payment. They are the people who emigrate or trek from Pakistan. These people
also include those people who open their eyes or born abroad of Pakistani
origin.

Ministry
of Human Resources Development and Overseas Pakistanis once told that more than
7.4 million Pakistanis live outside the Pakistan before 2015. The majority of
Pakistanis living outside the country present in the Middle East Countries such
as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and so on. The most interesting
and important thing is that more than 1.5 million people live in the United
Kingdom belongs to Islamic Republic of  Pakistan which makes the second largest
community in the United Kingdom. According to World Bank Fact book 2011 near
about 5 million Pakistanis migrated all over the world makes up the 7th
largest Diaspora and by adding the new born children of all these overseas
Pakistanis these figures exceeded to 7 million.

Importance

Overseas
people have very much importance in the country development and progress. As we
see Pakistan, the percentage of remittance increasing day by day. In 2010 the
growing remittance amounting to 5% of Pakistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
which is nearly equal to US 13 billion dollar. It provided an important factor
for the Pakistani state in funding its huge present account loss or deficit. It
also helps those families or people finically whose dear relatives lives in
foreign countries. Pakistani Diaspora has so much potential. Pakistani students
live and study in many of the foreign countries of the world. Most of the
students of Pakistan live in the western countries. Many of them moved back to
their dear home land to serve their own country to make use of their acquired
knowledge. Some of them live their whole life in the foreign countries and make
one to two times their trip to Pakistan. But a large amount of the overseas
Pakistanis holds dual citizenship.

Over
the last five to ten years the mobility or motion of the Pakistani treks has
been global and has an important and considerable impact on the people of the
host countries as well as progress and developments in Pakistan. By seeing the
potential and the importance of the Pakistan Diaspora the government of
Pakistan made a department for overseas Pakistanis in 1979 named as foundation
for overseas Pakistanis having main headquarter in the capital city Islamabad.
The ministry’s for overseas Pakistanis have been given the task to facilitate
and formulate the good policies which give benefits to our overseas Pakistanis
and to facilitate them when they finally come back to their home.

If
we see Pakistani Diaspora at political level, the Pakistani Diaspora make the two-way
contribution; first of all, they work for host countries, they donate their
monetarily to the political parties which they join of their interest. Second
they take part in political lobbying and participate in various political
activities. This thing is beneficial for Pakistan because it can increase
relationship of Pakistan with various countries of the world in which overseas
Pakistanis take part in political parties and win their seat from the host
countries and increase transnational connections between the various countries
of world and Pakistan. In this prospect, many Pakistani have got a value able
and prominent position in the political systems of the host or adopted counties
of the world.

Pakistani
students which are studying in other countries of the world are helpful in bringing
the soft image of Pakistan in front of the whole world that Pakistan is
peaceful country which wants to bring peace, harmony and the wants that
everybody get education to kill poverty and terrorism and wants to bright
future of the world.

In
the above figure the areas which are dark red shows highest population of
Pakistani in foreign then come dark pink after which light pink color shows
those areas of world in which small numbers of Pakistanis present. Black color
shows that there is no Pakistanis present in these area of the world.

My Thought

I think that Pakistani Diaspora have
importance in the progress of Pakistan.

They
strengthen our economy. Government should inaugurate policies to encourage
Pakistan Diaspora to increase their remittance. Pakistan Diaspora network
should be an effective tool through which skills can be transferred to Pakistan
in the form of technology transferred. As Pakistan is the world 6th
largest populated country in the world. From the start of its existence
Pakistan faced so many problems. About 30 % population of Pakistan live under
the line of poverty. Many people did not get jobs so due to unemployment and
poverty many people decided to go to other countries of different continents
for the sake of employment. And till now it is happening. The number of
overseas Pakistanis increasing day by day. Some of them got good job and
employment so they settled in different parts of world but some of them are
still unemployed. Some people go to other country illegally so they faced so
many problems. From the last few months many of Pakistani people present in
Saudi Arabia were kicked out by the Saudi government. Many of them present in
Saudi prisons. So Pakistani government should try to solve the problems of
overseas Pakistanis as much as possible especially those Pakistani presents in
United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, many of overseas Pakistanis
are famous all over the world. As about some of them I am pointing in next
paragraph.

Nergis
Mavalvala

The pride of Pakistan Nergis mavalvala born in
Lahore in 1968 received O-level and A-level qualification. She is well known
for the detection of gravitational waves and is a Pakistani-American
astrophysicist in the Massachusetts institute of technology.

Amir Iqbal khan

He was born in the Matore village of
kahuta tehsil situated in the Rawalpindi district of the Punjab. Now he is a British
professional boxer.

Imran
Tahir and Iskandar Raza

They both are cricketer in two
different (South Africa and Zimbabwe) teams belongs to Pakistan.

Mayer
of Landon is Sadiq Khan

His father was Pakistani who migrated from
Pakistan in 1960

Shah
Hussain shah

He was a Pakistani boxer who now
lives in Japan and now he trains young boys and girls.

Many of Pakistani people works in
NASA which shows the bright future of Pakistan. These Pakistanis are the source
of creating soft or good image of Pakistan by working positive and hard for the
beneficial of the whole humanity.

I would like to wind up my topic on these
words:

After every dark night there is bright future.
I pray to Almighty Allah that those days will come soon when people from all
over the world will come into my dear homeland for employment and different
job. Ameen
